Greenway first Visit of 2011
Visited Greenway for the first time since it was closed for the 2010 winter season. Looking forward to visiting again in a couple of weeks and hoping the flowers will be in greater bloom.
Just for a few friends who are away at the moment I trust you enjoy this view.
A warm welcome to my blog. My new painting theme is The British Heritage - The National Trust's gardens at: Greenway, Coleton Fishacre, Wembury, & Antony House
Hi, my name is David Folley. I’ve been a professional painter for nearly 25 years now.
I'm a figurative painter, that doesn’t mean I only paint figures! It means painting something which is recognizable even abstract, e.g., a canvas painted in two colors!
However, the joy of painting is putting different colors next to each other. e.g., place a red blob on the canvas and then a blue next to it, would the red blob look nearer or further away?
The answer ultimately depends on the colors intensity. If the red was dark and the blue light, red would appear closer. Reversed, then blue appears closer. If the same intensity or have a slight tint… well you try it and let me know!
This explication is the reason I became a painter – not seeing the same intrigues me.
However, by exploring these different facets enables me a richer understanding of the world I live in.
